Some exchanges have a minimum purchase value but it is rarely more than $100. Registering with an exchange doesn’t require making a purchase either so get started and buy when you’re comfortable.

You can, however, purchase some of the other main coins like Ethereum directly from exchanges like CEX.io If you want access to the hundreds of other coins you can move the main coins to an exchange like Binance and trade there.
